The brand Vastram believes that fashion is timeless and "less is more". Vasstram explores the reinvention of classics through modern tailoring and Indian textiles. Inspired by the textile heritage, they design garments that are minimalistic and meant to last seasons, outlast trends, and complement your personality without overpowering your individuality. Their products are made from natural and breathable fabrics that allow you to feel uninhibited and free. Many of their clothes are meant to be layered and paired effortlessly with pieces that already reside in your wardrobe. At Vasstram transitional wardrobe staples are developed through innovation and sustainability that makes them timeless.

Purpose

They offer functional, timeless, and minimal outfits that are perfect for a workday or weekend, inspired by the beauty of imperfection. They love and appreciate asymmetry and imperfection within and around us, and traces of those imperfections are reflected in their products' silhouettes and hemlines.

People

From its very inception, the core values that drive the brand Vasstram have been the upliftment of those on the fringes of society and the creation of employment opportunities for them and their families. In using handloom ikat fabric for crafting our clothing they empower small craft clusters in Telangana, women artisans in Lucknow who are skilled in the craft of chikankari hand-embroidery. They source some of their handloom cotton and mashru from Gujarat and are looking forward to working with a small cluster based in Chanderi for the upcoming festive season as well as in Benares.

Vasstram’s design ethos has always put longevity first. They favor enduring style over passing trends. “Buy better, keep forever,” combining this approach to design with a focus on sustainable fabrics, they create timeless products with beautiful mul cotton, handloom ikat cotton made by weavers using thread on a clattering handloom. Vasstram reinterprets fabric by blending an urban style with the choicest of handicraft talent. The brand is inspired by the multilayered culture and creates collections that are trendy, earthy, and relevant. Their rationale comes from a passion for conservation and an eco-friendly approach to business. They use a variety of sustainable materials, often end-of-line fabrics and conscious pattern cutting to reduce factory waste.
