U.S. Import Duty Update

From 29 August 2025, due to recent trade developments, the $800 “de minimis” exemption has been removed. This exemption previously allowed goods valued under $800 to enter the U.S. without customs duties.

What this means for you:

  • All international orders shipped to the U.S., regardless of value, may now be subject to customs duties.
  • Any applicable charges will be collected by the courier at delivery.
  • These duties are set and collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), not by Flourish Planet.
  • Delivery times may vary slightly depending on how quickly duties are processed.

We know this is a significant change, and we’re committed to keeping the process as smooth and transparent as possible. We will continue to share any available details on shipping and duties during checkout and on our product pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why am I being charged duties, and how are they collected?
From 29 August 2025, due to recent trade developments, U.S. Customs may apply duties on all shipments from India, regardless of value.
Any applicable charges will be collected by the courier at delivery.

2. Who collects these duties?
Duties are collected directly by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Flourish Planet does not set or collect these fees.

3. Will I know the duty amount before I place my order?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide exact duty amounts at checkout, as they are determined by CBP and may vary based on the type and value of goods in your order.

4. Will this affect delivery times?
It’s possible that deliveries could take a little longer while duties are assessed and collected. We recommend monitoring your tracking updates closely.

5. What if I don’t pay the duties?
If duties are not paid, CBP may hold or return the package. To avoid delays, we recommend paying promptly once notified.
