The ideas and heart behind Carry Courage began in 2018 as a creative outlet for owner Marisa Simoes and has quickly become a pioneer of the sustainable fashion movement that creates organizing solutions for intentional women.
We exist to create and inspire a community of courageous women to make a positive impact on the planet through sustainable choices and transparency of our process.
Carry Courage takes a restorative approach in our business and values living out circular design ideals. We seek out fair labor practices, earth conscious materials (like cork fabric and linen) and hand craft them into beautiful, functional products without compromise.

To inspire courage and creativity and support collaborative opportunities for women to step out independently and care for their families is at the core of Carry Courage’s values.
To support their vision, Carry Courage is privileged to partner with Norboo Tibetan Handicrafts to spread the rich and extraordinary flavor of Tibetan culture to the United States.
Norboo's mission is to support single mothers in remote communities of Tibet, teaching them how to use the resources available to them, primarily through training in various practical skills. Creating high quality products with materials indigenous to the Tibetan Plateau allows them to express the joy they have found in this place and in these people.
Planet
Carry Courage chooses to seek out earth conscious materials because they believe sustainability should be beautiful. Harvested from the cork oak tree, their cork comes from sustainable forests with strict harvesting regulations to protect this resource and regulate its quality. They use only PU-based leather in order to avoid the harmful effects of the animal leather industry and toxic plastic-based PVC leather.
What sets Carry Courage apart are the materials they use, but primarily their production method. Their maker economy business model allows them to make each item themselves by hand in their home studio. This process helps reduce unnecessary factory emissions and ensures fair wages and working conditions for their artisans. They are also able to more easily reduce waste in their production. All but the tiniest fabric scraps are used for their products, and the remainder is responsibly recycled.
