People
A small production team of 3 tailors and 1 masterji, it truly is a family. B Label supports them through continuous flow of decent work, fair pay and a positive work environment focused on self-improvement. Their handlooms division focuses on supporting the women weavers and farmers of Uttarakhand to assist in making fabrics that are turned into stoles, laptop sleeves, cushions covers and table wear. B Label Handlooms is our effort to connect these self- sustaining decentralized units in the remote mountains to global markets.
Planet
They use only natural material buttons, trims and blends. Their main raw material, industrial hemp, is organically cultivated and requires 400 times less water to grow with little to no pesticides compared to cotton. It gets better with every wash and is highly durable. Their packaging comprises plastic free shipping bags and recyclable cardboard boxes. Overall they use a low inventory model which avoids dead stock and improves attention to detail.
