Minus Degre is a design firm that plays around with plastic waste, crafting household products, furniture and art objects. The firm was established with the intent of changing the mainstream view of the material and its usage. They want to create products keeping in mind the aspect of sustainability, and a community which is of the people, for the people and by the people.

Purpose

At Minus Degre, the short-lived household plastic waste is converted into a product which can help not letting the plastic end-up in landfills. They aim at reducing the genesis of virgin plastic by replacing it with reused and recycled plastic products of superior quality. Plastic is not waste as long as we create value from it. That is why they believe that the world should move from the misuse to reuse of plastic.

People

Minus Degre would be nothing without Kabbadiwalas and they refer to them as Eco-Warriors. These warriors are their sources to acquire plastic waste. By eliminating the long recycling channel, Minus Degre has been able to increase the income of these warriors which in turn supports their families. Any waste material that is recycled has an impact on the lives of humans and other organisms on the planet.

Planet

All the products are made from locally sourced 100% plastic waste of single type with no additive and no external colors. This helps them to re-recycle the products number of times without losing property thus not only helping put the plastic into circular cycles but also helping in reducing the amount of plastic waste ending up in landfills & water bodies .
