Kaarigar Clinic is an initiative that works towards rural development by mentoring local artisans to strategically grow their traditional craft practices into self-sustaining businesses. They work with more than 500 artisans and among majority are women.
Purpose
Over the past few years, Kaarigar Clinic has been working with the sole purpose of strengthening village economies. Due to the uncontrollable migration of rural people in search of livelihood, local economies are suffering and many traditional craft skills are on the brink of extinction. By supporting artisans to become self-reliant entrepreneurs, Kaarigar Clinic nurtures artisans to flourish in their hometowns. Kaarigar Clinic aims to develop 1000 kaarigar Entrepreneurs, thereby impacting the livelihood of 1,00,000 artisan families.
People
Kaarigar Clinic believes that long-term social impact is created by individual nurturing. Respect and recognition are equally important as earning a livelihood, and Kaarigar Clinic is working towards giving artisans a dignified life in their villages. Kaarigar Clinic encourages women artisans to become entrepreneurs. They work with more than 500 artisans and among them a majority is women.

Kaarigar Clinic encourages artisan entrepreneurs and the community to adopt the four pillars of an ethical business: Product, People, Planet, and Profit. Taking care of Planet is one of the primary concerns in their whole business eco-system. Wherever possible they use the local techniques, materials, resources with less transportation. They also encourage artisans not only for fair trade practices but also for environment-friendly production and making fair products.
