about industree foundation

Established in 2000, Industree Foundation’s goal is to create an ownership-based, organised creative manufacturing ecosystem for micro-entrepreneurs.

Our belief is that conscious consumption can empower an entire ecosystem of sustainable livelihoods. In that undeniable interconnectedness lies the root of what we do here at Flourish. A producer owned e-commerce platform exclusively made for traceable products, we help communities assess their traditional skill base, organise them into units, develop products that appeal to global markets and create consistent demand for sustainable businesses.

Through collaborative efforts with organisations like USAID, HSBC, Target Foundation, HT Parekh Foundation, The Future Group, IKEA, Mastercard Centre for Inclusive Growth, Standard Chartered, The Freedom Fund, Tata Trusts, Grassroots Business Fund, and National Skill Development Corporation, our foundation has grown strong with about 125,000 artisans across India and Africa.

Flourish aims to foster a global community that sees, values, and aims to bring the world closer together, through stories of thousands of handcrafted products told through generations, old and new.

An Industrial Design graduate (NID - Ahmedabad) and inspirational social entrepreneur, Neelam has dedicated her career, spanning over three decades, to the upliftment of artisans in rural areas. From providing design-focused support and marketing and management solutions to them, to being closely involved with women producers in India and America, she is continuously working to build an ecosystem to help them thrive.

She is an active member of the India Design Council, the WEF Skills Task Force (India) and the Governing Council of National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad). She also boards AIACA (All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association) and is a member of the working committee of the Civil Society Organisations at NITI Aayog.
